The driver’s race suit is a complicated garment, engineered to fulfil many exclusive tasks – it most definitely isn’t just a set of overalls! The primary responsibility of the race suit is to offer protection but at the same time, it needs to be able to breathe. This isn’t purely a matter of comfort: drivers spend much of their day wearing a race suit, often in a stifling cockpit or hot ambient conditions. This in turn can lead to a decrease in mental ability, possibly dangerous when making split-second decisions on a busy and super-fast racetrack. The tailored race suit is designed to keep drivers cool while keeping them safe, allowing them to perform at the very highest level.
